The Huon Doctors Surgery is a private billing practice. A list of fees is displayed on our notice board. We do bulk bill: Veteran Affairs Card holders, all children under 16 years with a Medicare Card, All Health Care Card holders and Pensioners with a Medicare Card.
Fees are payable on the day of consultation and a Medicare rebate can be processed immediately when you have a current Medicare card and a Debit Eftpos card.
If you have difficulty paying the fee, please discuss it with us. An administration fee will be incurred for fees not paid on the day of consultation.
Please ring 6264 1666 for an appointment. Every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred time and GP.
Emergencies will always be given priority and our reception staff will attempt to contact you should there be any unforeseen delay or your GP is called away.
Our standard appointments are 12 or 15 minutes duration. If you have multiple issues or feel that you may take longer please request a longer appointment.
If your or a family member, require an interpreter service, this can be organised. Please let us know when you make the appointment.
Cancelling appointments is totally understandable. We ask that you call the surgery at least 2 hours prior to the scheduled appointment. This allows other patients to utilise that time.
For urgent problems after hours call 1800 022 222 and you will be directed to an after hours triage service.
Home visits are available for regular patients of this practice whose condition prevents them from attending the surgery at the discretion of the treating doctor.
Your doctor will advise you when they expect your results will be available.
Please phone the surgery ( 62641666) between 10.00am – 4.00pm for your results.
All patients will receive a reminder SMS message the day before their booked appointment. Monday’s appointments will receive their reminder on Friday.
If you cannot make the appointment please phone ( 62641666) and reschedule.
Telephone calls are not routinely diverted to Doctors. Our receptionist will assist you with your concern and if necessary transfer the call to the Nurse for triaging.
Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff. In the interest of good health, patient and staff comfort our surgery is strictly a non smoking area. There is also no smoking within 20 meters of any entrance. We appreciate your adherence to this policy.
At the Huon Doctors Surgery we expect patients to treat all our staff with courtesy and respect. We will not tolerate threatening, violent, swearing or abusive behaviour, such behaviour will result in the police being called and removal from the practice patient list.
